New Dental Patient Information
Riggs CHC is currently accepting new dental patients--however, we have limited space for adding new patients each month. New dental patients are accepted on the 15th of each month. Please note: If the 15th falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, the next Monday will be selected.
Once all our new patients appointment slots have been filled, any patient who still wish to become a new patient is advised to contact the dental department on the 15th of the next month.
For self-pay patients, we offer discounted fees based on income. To be considered for our sliding scale fees, please bring at least one of the following on the day of your initial appointment:
-
Proof of monthly income (four most recent paycheck stubs if paid weekly, most recent tax return)
-
Social Security statement
-
Documentation of unemployment or disability status
If you do not receive any income, please provide a letter of financial support and a wage inquiry report. Wage inquiry reports can be obtained from Work One.
If you recieve medicaid, please bring your Medicaid card or other proof of active Medicaid status. Please remember, that are limitations on the dental services Medicaid covers, and there are certain medicaid packages that do not include dental care.
New Dental Patient Checklist

- Given limited space in our exam rooms, patients are expected to come back alone. If you have children, we request you do not bring them back with you. Please arrange for childcare if needed. If the new patient is a child, parents are allowed back for the initial exam; however children are expected to come back alone for any future appointments.
- Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out necessary paper work. Arriving more than ten minutes after your scheduled appointment will be considered a failed appointment.
- Payment is expected at the time of the first visit. If you do not have payment at the time of your appointment you will be considered a failed appointment.
- If you cannot make it to your initial examination, you must provide 24 hour notice that you wish to cancel or reschedule. If you do not give 24-hour notice, it will be considered a failed appointment
- If you fail your initial exam appointment, you will be unable to re-schedule as a new patient for six months from your original appointment date. During this period, you may still be seen for limited emergency exams if needed.
