The Board of Directors of Riggs Community Health Center (Riggs)
is pleased to announce the appointment of April Fife, BSN, MSN, FNP-C, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2024. April succeeds Dr. McQuade-Jones, who has served as President/CEO since 2014.
“I am truly honored to lead Team Riggs as we continue our mission of providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare to our community members,” said April Fife. “At Riggs, we believe in caring for the whole person and embracing the unique needs of our diverse communities. My goal is to ensure that every individual who walks through our doors feels valued, cared for, and proud to call Riggs their medical home.”
April brings over 17 years of nursing experience, with a focus on women’s health for the past 12 years as a family nurse practitioner. She has been a dedicated healthcare provider, positively impacting thousands of women and expecting mothers in the community. Her previous roles at Riggs, including Director of Clinical Services and Chief Clinical Officer, have equipped her with a deep understanding of the organization and the vital role it plays in the community.
“Our Board Members are excited to support April as she leads us into this new chapter,” said Travis Duell, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her vision for Riggs and her genuine connection to our team and the communities we serve make her the perfect fit to enhance our impact and foster a healthier future for everyone.”
Dr. McQuade-Jones will transition into a part-time consulting role, continuing to support Riggs’ mission and initiatives after an eleven-year tenure as President/CEO/CMO. Duell noted, “It was evident during the interview process that April’s vision for Riggs, her extensive knowledge of our operations, and her prior leadership experience make her the ideal candidate to further our mission. Riggs is in great hands, and our community can count on April and her team to meet its ongoing medical needs.”
